Funding

I am starting this page because I firmly believe that not all information about help, funding and grants gets shared with all families that are affected by Autism.  I am hoping that this can serve as a way to help get the information out there.  If you are aware of funding or grant that I do not have listed here then please send it along to me so I can add it.  I will continue updating it as often as I can.

Disability Tax Credit - a monthly supplement that can help with your extra expenses that you incur due to your child (ie. Special Diet, IBI, babysitting).  Make sure that once your child is approved for the Disability Tax Credit that you then send in a T1 amendment requesting a reassessment.  Most will be approved for reassessment back til birth.  This has nothing to do with the date of your child's official diagnosis.  This reassessment could mean thousands of dollars in refunds for families.  If you use an accountant to do your taxes then they can apply for this amendment for you.

Easter Seals Programs - Access 2 Entertainment Card, Disability Travel Card (provides identification to a person with a permanent disability, which will allow an adult attendant, travelling with the person with a disability, to travel at no cost), Jump Start, Provincial Programs

PC Charities - The President's Choice® Children's Charity (PCCC) is dedicated to helping children who are physically or developmentally challenged. Our aim is to remove some of the obstacles that make everyday living difficult and to provide these young people with a renewed sense of dignity, independence and freedom. **Your family income must be $70,000 or less to apply.
