Today is our first appointment as a family and Andy's support team with TAC which is the Technology Access Clinic through the Hamilton Health Sciences. I am taking it as a good sign that it's also what would have been my Granny's birthday which is often someone I refer to as one of Andy's most present guardian angels.
Now time for me to share some real life inspiration...
If you haven't already heard of Carly Fleischmann yet then you are missing out on one of the truly most amazing teenagers out there.
Carly is Canadian (yeah) and has a diagnosis of Autism. She is unable to speak but has found her a way to express her inner voice through her writing and the computer. Carly's words make you stop and reflect.
Those of you that know Andy I'm sure can immediately understand why teens like Carly touch my heart as much as they do. Those that love Andy get it...and I know that there's always more to come. One day we will figure out exactly how to unlock all of those amazing thoughts that are racing around my little boy's mind.
So, if I may be so bold as to borrow some words of Carly's...
"Keep dreaming, it makes the world a better place."
Carly's book was released on March 27th, 2012 - if you're wanting to read more about her story. I was lucky enough to have received this book as a present for my birthday earlier this month from my hubby! I am so looking forward to learning more about Carly and hear her dad's perspective.
